Rampage 03:08
It’s been a long day Look how long the shadows You know I can’t stand leaving But I can’t stay I’m on a rampage, A rampage See the light that goes See the light that goes See the light that goes
2.
In the distance, On visible waves In the distance We’re back in the air again In the distants In faded-out waves We’re back in the air again We’re back in the air again
3.
Au Naturel 03:31
I’m gonna rain in your direction when I get out I’ll make it seem so natural Summon all the breeze, watch it gather around me As I exit thru the backbone I ride a wave the coloration of cities burning down See me own the rooftops Sinking in the sky with my head out for the clouds, The rain in your direction I put my fingers down Into the earth I put my hands right down Into the ground I put my fingers down Into the earth I’ve got the feeling right now Hear the sound of thunder before you see the crowd We’re growing up the coastline I’m making old connections back under the ground, They come in from out of nowhere I’m shifting like an industry you’ve never seen now Wrecking all your little spells Slipping into patterns every time I get out It seems so natural They make it seem so natural On the signal On the word Get the readout Get the readout from her I put my fingers down Into the earth I put my hands right down Into the ground I put my fingers down Into the ground I’ve got the feeling right now
4.
Morro Bay 05:09
I’ve been waiting, waiting all day Sinking thru the top of the sun Day out, day in on Morro Bay Wait for the cicadas to come Come down, Low Suns of the West You never know You never know when You never know when I’m thinking about your hair The station is saying, “Forget your name, Memory’s a waterfall” I stay with the phrases that correlate, listen for the Lost Talk You never know You never know when You never know when I’m thinking about your hair your hair Come down, come down, Low Suns of the West Druid Suns of the West

Escape Scene 04:41

The Wind 04:43
Tomorrow’s low hum is already here It’s sliding down the back wall You can hear it when we fly in from the valleys, hear it in the summertime But when I really don’t know, The wind is everywhere I go Tomorrow’s low hum was already here It said it likes the way we fall You could feel it turning down the wrong alleys, feel it in the summertime (You can hear it in the summertime) But when I really don’t know, The wind is everywhere I go And a little down the road, The wind is everywhere I go
7.
Lookaround 04:57
Chameleon in motion I’m digging up friends I left the Temple of One True Light On the bed There was a moment out of focus, A little blackout tent A chameleon in motion With co-recollected friends See you on the waves See you on the water Catch you on the ground And we can lookaround, Lookaround I feel a million green things growing Around every bend Hear the toads singing, singing In a low, low tone about The Way To Get Back We’ll run it right out in the open, On the collective head I left the Temple of One True Light I’m digging, digging up friends See you on the waves Waiting on the water Catch you on the ground And we can Lookaround We can lookaround
8.
Deliverer 02:39
9.
See you where the streets are rearranged I’m leaving when the screen is in its place In the big nighttime In the big nighttime See you in the scene where we escape into the city’s in-between space In the big nighttime In the big nighttime (Break) Seaside city (SEASIDE CITY!), singing all the highs White cars under parking lot lights In the big nighttime In the big nighttime See you on a beach with no name Where the stars come out & never go away In the big nighttime In the big nighttime In the fake night tide In the fake night tide I can take my time In the fake night tide

about

Like the traveler who wakes up in a warm bed inside an unfamiliar house, Clear Thing’s Everywhere I Go finds its weight pressed into half-remembered contours, drifting between mesmerized bliss and disconcerting oddness. The debut release from the Los Angeles duo of Ernest Gibson and Erik Frydenborg (both formerly of Net Shaker) wanders through unseen habitats: opaque austral canopy, shimmering remote beachfronts, moonstruck Delvaux plazas, deep starless seabeds. Its 10 songs unfold like a travelogue of the teeming ecosystems and hidden attractions of these spectral realms.

Clear Thing moves at an unhurried pace, building dense assemblages of refurbished kosmische, sweaty police procedural synth, reverb-drenched guitar, and sideways tropical flourishes. Jittery hand drums, kalimba, and flutters of recorder lend the proceedings a rustic slackness, while insistent riffs and basslines conjure amnesiac approximations of late-century AOR. Squint at Clear Thing’s footfall, and you’ll find washed-out traces of Jon Hassell’s “Fourth World” where their tracks land. Scratch a little deeper and you’ll unearth other particles—a rounded chunk of Black Ark era Dub, a nibbled bit of lap steel that might have floated in from Santo & Johnny’s Hawaii. But the shapes the duo constructs from these upturned fragments are slippery and ever-shifting—silhouettes at the edge of night.

Full of relays between anthemic urgency and psychotropic enchantment, Everywhere I Go channels signals from adjacent worlds, humming along while the green things grow.
